Narratives of clients
  • Prevention of HIV, peace of mind, reduce fears of getting HIV

  • Mental health benefits- reduce anxiety, stigma

  • Sexual confidence, disclosure, enjoying sexual experiences

  • Minor side effects, worried about long term effects

  • “It's difficult to articulate, but it's not until I started using PrEP that I realized to what degree the early messaging around HIV, all of the fear based messaging was so imprinted on my DNA as a gay man that it was like a dark cloud entering every sexual encounter I had.

And I cannot underestimate the positive mental health impact that… I wasn't expecting the extent of it”

  • “At the end of the day, it was a matter of Peace of Mind.”
